Just saw this movie for the first time. Freaking brilliant. I didnt know the mouth of sauron was in this film. I got more votes than Ann Margaret that year. So Satisfying. Wish McMurphy and Chief went free together though. The most satisfying scene in the whole movie.

And also because he is as big as a damn mountain 😂😂😂😂😂. I was in one of these places in 1972! Very realistic portrayal. These men had an after party because they needed some release from being locked up and they even went fishing just to feel that they are alive and then Nurse Ratched comes in! I felt bad for Billy because Nurse Ratched was going to tell his mother and that's why Billy Killed himself! These men were locked up chained up like animals and they were treated like Animals! When you deal with people whose brains are different doesn't mean that they are crazy! Its the outside world that is crazy not them and they were victims of society and the families just dumped them there which I was thought was pretty cold hearted.

That award was well deserved, I wanted nurse ratched to die the entire time lol.

Jack Nicholson is at his best in this movie! I miss when actors were actually good

Shes acting like ”that poor irrational boy killed himself just totally out of the blue for no apparent reason” As if she had nothing to do with it and its just cause of his mental illness. That is what annoyed me so much, I was waiting for atleast the guilt to kick in but no, shes too careless. I went to a psychiatric hospital was terrified of other patient but without nurse RATCHED the nurses were very kind and understanding. Wow she's actually gorgeous.

Arguably one of the greatest films of all time. Easily the greatest performance of all time. The ending made me cry. Cant believe they took a piece of his Brain out in the front. My dad sent this to me saying This is what all our manager meetings are like. Moral of the story: don't party until after you escape. Big fan of William Redfield, he worked a lot in the 70's. Great actor. He does steal many scenes in Cuckoo's Nest and brings out the other characters. He's actually the conductor of many scenes. As an experiment ; put any song you could think of to the part where nicholson's character snaps and chokes the nurse, and you will die laughing. check my video to see the experiment. I watched "One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest" many years ago but only just re-watched it today on DVD. I've now seen it twice today, once with standard soundtrack and again with the soundtrack consisting of commentary from the director and producers. Frankly I'm disgusted at myself for not seeing this movie more often - this is one of the best pictures of all time, in my opinion. Nicholson has never made a better picture (though I do think that he's made a good living playing McMurphy ever since) and Fletcher epitomises the kind of eveil that goes un-noticed because it's there 'for your own good. The film is ultimately bleak, though, in its statement that spontenaity and personaity will be punished by destruction - either physical (like Bobby) or by forced conformance (like McMurphy) surely has taken this from his experience behind the Iron Curtain.
9/10 - not 10 because of its hopelessness.

Jack Nicholson does such a great job in this movie.
